Jimmy Styles could bid for a second Listed success of the spring in the Abernant Stakes at Newmarket’s Craven meeting

following his victory in the Cammidge Trophy.

Clive Cox’s sprinter notched up his first win since the Ayr Gold Cup in September 2009 when triumphing at Doncaster last Saturday.

Cox will now monitor the horse’s condition before deciding whether to go for another six-furlong dash next week.

“He’s come out of it really well. I was thrilled to bits with his performance and delighted he’s come out of it well,” said the Lambourn trainer.

“Both he and the second horse (Iver Bridge Lad) had spells out in Dubai. He came back in tip-top form and we were able to take advantage of that.

“The Abernant is a possibility. We’ve always been guarded about horses coming back from Dubai, but on the strength of that performance we have to let the horse decide. We’ll see how he is, but it would be very much on the radar.”
