Building services designer S I Sealy has been appointed to undertake a review of the Houses of Parliament, a Grade I listed building and a World Heritage Site, by the Parliamentary Estates Directorate.
It has been some time since the Houses of Parliament had its heating, power and ICT infrastructure updated.
This project will see the mechanical and electrical plant equipment updated and refurbished over the next four years.
The company will review the designs of this refurbishment, which will include the chilled water systems, steam infrastructure, electrical low voltage infrastructure systems and high voltage substations, ventilation, building management systems as well as the ICT infrastructure.
David Stafford, S I Sealy director, said: “We are thrilled to have been appointed to review the building services design of the Houses of Parliament, the most iconic building in the UK, and one of the most iconic in the world.
“We have had a great 12 months, having also been appointed in the Autumn of 2010 as the detailed engineering designers of The Co-operative Group’s new headquarters building.
“At the same time our team of engineers continues to remain flexible enough to also undertake much smaller commissions.”
