Educational opportunities and plentiful housing options close to big employers are two of the attractions of the Montgomery East neighborhood.

Explosive growth behind Montgomery East in the past 15 years testifies to the popularity of the area of the Capital City. Hidden Meadows, The Woods and Dexter Ridge are some of the new developments that have been built north of Montgomery East off Wares Ferry Road.

Homes built in the early 1980s with three or more bedrooms are the norm in the large neighborhood.

Streets and cul-de-sacs feed off the two main neighborhood arteries of Dunbarton and North Burbank drives.

Lots provide backyards large enough for pools, playgrounds or landscaped areas. Most home designs are one story. Homeowners have added sunrooms, additions or decks on the mostly flat terrain in the neighborhood.

Realtor Brenda Hanna said Montgomery East is convenience to popular shopping venues and schools along with its price point make the neighborhood attractive to prospective homebuyers in any stage of life.

“It’s got location, location, location!” Hanna said. “Homes are affordably priced with excellent selections for both single, first-time buyers and retirees. It’s also a well-established neighborhood.”

Ages of homes vary from those built in the 1970s through the 1990s.

One three-bedroom, two-bath home on Bangor Court is listed for sale at $89,900.

“It’s completely updated with a large great room with a fireplace, and beautiful cherry laminate flooring,” Hanna said. “It also includes a covered patio, and a very private, large fully fenced backyard with trees.”

A four-bedroom, two-bath home on North Burbank Drive is listed for sale at $103,900. It offers a spacious front yard, detached storage, a huge great room and a backyard that backs up to the neighborhood park. The home was built in 1984.
