A grade I-listed Georgian former hotel has been brought to market with a guide price of more than £4.5m.
Savills, on behalf of a private client, is marketing the former Carfax Hotel in Bath.
The property comprises three terraced townhouses and a two -coach house and operated as a 31-bedroom hotel it closed in 2013.
Planning consent is in place to create an additional eight bedrooms and extend the dining space.
The building is located halfway along the north side of Great Pulteney Street in the city centre, close to Bath’s main attractions and the train station.
Martin Rogers, hotels director at Savills, said: “This historic property previously traded successfully as a hotel and with Bath’s strong tourist market, plus planning permission in place to add further bedrooms, it could certainly do so again.
“Alternatively, it could be converted into luxury houses or apartments subject to the necessary planning consents.”
A deadline for offers has been set at 12pm on Monday 14 March 2016.
