Manchester United defender Regan Poole has been included in the club’s Europa League squad.
Poole, 17, had been prevented from playing in any United fixtures due to a delay regarding his international clearance, however he made his Under-21s debut at Everton on Monday night.
The teenager joined United from Newport County, where he became the club’s youngest player, in the summer and he has received the number 41 squad number. United play Danish side Midtjylland in the round-of-32 this month.
A number of United youngsters are not included in the 24-man squad but will likely be included in the B-list. Uefa’s Europa League rule book states clubs ‘may have no more than 25 players on List A… eight places are reserved exclusively for ‘locally trained players’. Cardiff-born Poole does not count as ‘club-trained’ or ‘association-trained’.
Paddy McNair, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Andreas Pereira were not listed in the tournament phase squad.
