New data from the Land Registry shows the ten most expensive houses sold in Coventry last year.

Four of the top ten were in Kenilworth Road, with the others in Earlsdon and Allesley.

But they pale into comparison with the most expensive house sold in the whole of England and Wales last year.

That title went to 83 Addison Road in Kensington and Chelsea, which sold for an eye-watering £30million.

According to the Land Registry, a total of 813,473 residential sales were registered in 2015.

Across England and Wales, there were 13,149 £1m+ sales, including 2,421 at £2m-plus.

There were 11.3 per cent fewer sales in 2015, compared to the 916,651 in 2014, although some sales from later in December 3015 may still need to be registered.

The number of £1m+ sales were down nine per cent from 14,443 in 2014, while sales at £2m-plus were down nearly a quarter (23.2 per cent) from 3,152.

The Land Registry lists the price paid for every property bought at market value by non-commercial buyers, so auction sales and property bought through companies is excluded.

It may take several weeks for sales to be registered after completion so some sales from later in December may not be listed yet.
