A US student is facing disciplinary action from his college after he rented his dorm room through Airbnb.
Emerson College sophomore Jack Worth told local media he rented his downtown Boston dorm three times in early January.
The room was listed on the rental website for two weeks before school officials ordered him to remove it, Mr Worth told the Boston Globe.
The 19-year-old student said he is now facing a discipline hearing.
Emerson officials declined to comment specifically on Mr Worth’s case, but said in a statement that renting or subletting dorm rooms violated school policy.
An Airbnb spokesman told the AP news agency that all hosts are asked to follow local regulations when renting a room.

Mr Worth has refused to say how much he charged for the one-night stay at the 12-storey dorm.
He told the Globe he only wanted to “make a little bit of extra money” to offset college expenses.
Mr Worth has received support online and on social media, following the launch of a “Free Jack Worth” hashtag.
