An historic Ormskirk pub has been placed on the market again, after planning permission to transform part of the building into student accommodation was passed.
The Buck I’th’Vine is listed for sale with Southport’s Fitton Estates, with offers in excess of £550,000 sought.
Last year there was a public outcry when plans to transform the first floor of the building into student flats was passed by councillors.
Developers planned to keep the ground floor as a pub, but to create 13 bedrooms in the upper floor.
Now however the pub has been listed for sale again.
The estate agent’s description reads: “The Buck I’th’ Vine is a historic Coahing Inn within Ormskirk Town Centre, constructed in the 17th/18th Century, together with stables, barn/store, and brew house/bottle store, situated around an enclosed cobbled courtyard.
“Initial expressions of interest are sought on freehold or leasehold basis, either as existing or on a turn key package, subject to contract, lease terms and covenant strength.
“Rental from £49,500 per annum, subject to lease terms, strength of covenant, proposed tenant’s/landlord’s works etc.
“Offers in excess of £550,000. Please contact John Barnes or Graham Bowling for further details.
“Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent Approved (with conditions) for Alteration of Ground Floor for A3/A4 Use and Conversion of Upper Floors into Student Accommodation.”
