Listed: 10 events to look forward to in King Township in 2016

Each month, the King Connection will publish a list of interest to the community. This month: We take a look at some of King Township’s events the community can look forward to in 2016. List is presented in chronological order.

Sunday, Jan. 24 from 2-5 p.m. The Art of Scotch – An Arts Society King event, held at the King Heritage and Cultural Centre, 2920 King Road, King City. A Celebration of Robbie Burns Day. NOTE: EVENT IS SOLD OUT.

Monday, Feb. 15, Family Day, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Outdoor events for the whole family at Cold Creek Conservation Area, 14125 11th Concession, Nobleton.

Saturday, March 5, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Maple Syrupfest at Cold Creek Conservation Area, 14125 11th Concession, Nobleton.

Saturday April 23 and Sunday April 24, Arts Society King Studio Tour. At various locations around King Township. Details to follow at wwwartssocietyking.ca.

Monday May 23, Nobleton Victoria Day celebration. One of the biggest Victoria Day celebrations in Ontario takes place in the village.

Saturday June 11, 12 noon to 9:30 p.m. King City Craft Beer and Food Festival. Craft beer and food and music, crowds and sunshine.

Saturday, Oct. 1
– Soupfest in the Holland Marsh. Chefs and others prepare soup for you to try. Thousands regularly attend.

Saturday, Nov. 19.
King City Christmas. Annual event where businesses open their doors, there’s a tree lighting ceremony, live performances, reindeer, photos with Santa and fireworks.

Saturday, Dec. 3.
A Main Street Christmas, Schomberg. Annual Christmas parade along Main Street in Schomberg.

Sunday, Dec. 4.
Tree Lighting in Nobleton. Annual tree-lighting in Nobleton.
