MTV Crashes is coming to Coventry – and now speculation is heating up as to who will perform.
In previous years, the flagship event for the iconic music television channel – which will be broadcast in 40 countries worldwide – has welcomed some of the biggest stars on the planet.
Alicia Keys has headlined the event, along with The X Factor contestants Little Mix and Olly Murs, and chart-topping urban acts like Tinie Tempah, Example and Professor Green.
Held at the Ricoh Arena across the May Bank Holiday weekend, the event promises to be spectacular – but who will play?
We’ve listed ten acts we reckon may be in with a shot of performing.

Sia
Australian singer-songwriter Sia will release her upcoming seventh studio album, This Is Acting, at the end of January.
Building on the success of a number-one album, why wouldn’t the ‘Chandelier’ star perform at MTV’s flagship event?
The 1975
Manchester four-piece The 1975 shot to fame three years ago, and will soon release their long-awaited sophomore album I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It.
The album drops in February.
Iggy Azalea
No stranger to the MTV stage, Iggy Azalea has enjoyed success with two top five UK singles, as well as featuring on Ariana Grande’s chart-topping smash-hit Problem.
Azalea – who hails from Sydney – will release her second album next month.
Ariana Grande
If Iggy Azalea appears, expect to see MTV favourite and US darling Ariana Grande appear.
Seeing the two perform the aforementioned number one would be spectacular, and Grande is set to unleash her third record at some point this year.
AURORA
The voice behind the John Lewis advert, Norwegian singer AURORA has engrossed the nation with her emotive rendition of Oasis favourite Half the World Away.
Relatively new to the UK chart scene, expect her to follow it up with a cracking debut album in March, titled All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend.
Upon its release, you’d imagine she will become a regular staple in the country’s festival scene.
Katy Perry
Pop icon Katy Perry will follow-up 2013’s Prism record with her fifth at some point in 2016, making her a logical choice to headline the MTV flagship event.
Lady Gaga
If MTV don’t fancy luring the Roar singer to Coventry, though, expect Lady Gaga to not be too far away on their list.
The weird and wonderful pop star – who is tipped to headline festivals throughout the UK next summer – will be releasing her fourth solo studio record at some point in 2016, with it acting as a follow-up to Artpop.
Gwen Stefani
She’s back.
The No Doubt singer – who hasn’t released any solo material since 2006 – has finally completed her forthcoming third album.
In October last year, Stefani performed a one-night concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
OneRepublic
American pop rock band OneRepublic confirmed a new album was in the making in November, when they tweeted: “We are looking at a window for 1st single now, can’t say what it is yet, but it’s coming in the new year. Gotta narrow down songs now!”
Expect the album to drop in the first half of 2016, making the Counting Stars band a reasonable fit for MTV Crashes in Coventry.
Linkin Park
MTV Crashes hasn’t shied away from recruiting rock acts in the past, with Kaiser Chiefs becoming a favourite of organisers.
Linkin Park – who broadcast their Projekt Revolution gig in Milton Keynes on MTV back in 2008 – surely fit the bill if they choose for a heavier sound in 2016.
