Aniplex of America announced the theater times and locations for its theatrical screening of Kizumonogatari Part 1: Tekketsu with English subtitles. The theaters showing the film are:

Aniplex of America also announced that it will release the UTAMONOGATARI –MONOGATARI SERIES THEME SONGS COMPILATION ALBUM- on January 18. The limted edition set includes new cover art by Akio Watanabe, two CDs with all 23 opening and ending songs for the Monogatari Series, and a Blu-ray with textless opening and closing sequences. The regular edition will include just the cover art and CDs.

The Kizumonogatari film project is a trilogy, and the first film opened in Japan on January 8. The second film is slated for summer 2016.

Akiyuki Simbo is once again credited as chief director at the anime studio SHAFT. Akio Watanabe and Hideyuki Morioka are designing the characters. Yota Tsuruoka is directing the sound, and Satoru Kousaki is composing the music. Tatsuya Oishi is the director.

Kizumonogatari is the third volume in NisiOisin‘s Monogatari book series and is a prequel to Bakemonogatari. The novel tells the story of how protagonist Koyomi encounters the female vampire that would turn him and his journey to return to his normal life. North American publisher Vertical released the novel in English this month.
