Tottenham Hotspur Links: Harry Kane is Listed in the Most Valuable Footballers …

Here are the latest Tottenham Hotspur Links to read.

First up, CIES Football Observatory has taken a look at the top 100 most valuable footballers in the top five European Leagues. But the Mirror has whittled down the list to a top 15 instead to make it easier. Harry Kane has made the list of course.

Next, Dele Alli is set to be rewarded with an improved contract that will double his current wages to reflect how much he’s done ever since he joined Tottenham. Alli is just the latest Spurs player to earn a new contract after producing when given the chance. And finally, youth academy player, Kyle Walker-Peters is set to go on trial to Dutch club, Roda JC with a possible loan move happening if things work out. To the links below.

Just how valuable is Harry Kane right now? Well… he’s currently the fifth most valuable footballer among the top five European leagues: Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue 1 and Serie A according to valuations calculated by the CIES Football Observatory. These values are based on transfer fees, performances, age, position and contract length.

For Kane, he wasn’t valued as high before, in fact he used to be in the mid-20s. But as soon 2014 became 2015 this is when a then-21-year-old striker took off and never looked back.

All of those goals that the England international scored (27 goals in the Premier League since January 1, 2015) has increased his value by €35 million which now raises his current value to €91 million.

CIES compiled a 1-100 list but the Mirror have decided to keep it short and listed the top 15 most valuable players among the top five European leagues instead. After Harry Kane’s 2015 goal scoring form, it’s not surprising to see him valued so high and behind some of the great players today.

So here’s the list below.

  7. Antoine Griezmann, Atlético Madrid — €88.3 million
  8. Luis Suárez, Barcelona — €86.3 million
  9. Sergio Aügero, Manchester City — €82.1 million

According to the London Evening Standard, Dele Alli is about to be given a new contract deal with improved wages because of the year that he’s currently having right now since joining Tottenham.

After League One side, MK Dons, agreed to a £5 million transfer fee last winter, Tottenham subsequently loaned a then 18-year-old Alli back to his boyhood club so that the Dons would be promoted to the Championship.

It appears that the buy-to-loan-back system worked as it gave Dele Alli more time to continue developing with MK Dons and for Spurs to start clearing up space when Alli would eventually join in the summer.

To begin this his Spurs career, a now 19-year-old Dele Alli would be given £10,000-per-week to start off with. Now after the halfway point in the 2015-16 Premier League season, the England international will be able to double his wages and earn £20,000-per-week as a sign of Tottenham rewarding their players who perform well when given the chance.

For Harry Kane, since July 2014, he’s had two new deals with the latest tying him to the club until the summer of 2020 and earning £50,000-per-week. The three highest earners in the first-team squad are Erik Lamela, Hugo Lloris and Mousa Dembele who are apparently around the £70-80,000 range.

In due time, if Dele Alli’s current trajectory continues rising, it would only be a matter of time until he’s close to earning how much Harry Kane gets now.

Another one of Tottenham’s youth academy players who has caught the eye of Mauricio Pochettino is right-back Kyle Walker-Peters — who has no relation to Kyle Walker on the first-team squad.

Getting a trial with Dutch club, Roda JC, for the young 18-year-old defender is because Spurs and Roda have formed a strong relationship over the months.

This short trial, where Walker-Peters is training with Roda, will help gauge interest in a possible loan deal according to Ton Caanen, Roda’s technical director.

“We’ll see if it suits either side. The intention is certainly to capture him on loan.” Caanen told Fox Sports.

As mentioned above how highly rated Pochettino views Kyle Walker-Peters. The Argentine manager has already taken the England Under-18 international on his Tottenham’s post-season summer tour to Asia and Australia.

Those two trips alone are signs that a potential call-up will be happening in the near future. And a supposed loan move to Roda JC, if Walker-Peters’ trial is a success, could be the next big step to accelerating the English right-back’s promotion to Tottenham’s first-team.
