Kobe Bryant remains listed as questionable for the Lakers’ game against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night at Staples Center, Coach Byron Scott said.
Bryant has a sore right shoulder, the same shoulder he had season-ending surgery on last January for a torn rotator cuff.
Bryant didn’t attend the team’s shoot-around that took place at Staples Center in front of about 1,000 season ticket holders sitting in the stands.
Scott said he was going to text Bryant after practice “just to see how he is.”
“We’ll go from there,” Scott said. “He came in yesterday and got some treatment, said it felt better. Like I said yesterday, what that means I don‘t know.”
Scott said if Bryant doesn’t play that he’ll start rookie Anthony Brown at small forward.
Julius Randle and D’Angelo Russell will continue to come off the bench against the Suns.
Scott said he’s not sure when he’ll put Randle and Russell back into the starting lineup.
“Say, for instance, we go out and win tonight, there’s really no need to change if you’re got a three-game winning streak,” said Scott, whose team has a two-game win streak going. “Right now, it kind of depends on how we play tonight.”
