FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Whether it’s Russian ballet or comedy that piques your interest, the Historic Embassy Theatre is kicking off 2016 with a little bit of something for everyone.
The first event of the year features the Fort Wayne Philharmonic performing Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. Tickets for the Jan. 9 performance start at $17.
Other performances that follow include the State Ballet of Russia’s Romeo Juliet on Jan. 20, the 2016 All Star Comedy Jam on Jan. 23, and a Philharmonic Pops concert with nationally known ukulele player Jake Shimabukuro.
Other Embassy Theatre highlights include a Valentine’s concert, Broadway at the Embassy’s 42nd Street, former Late Night host Jay Leno and country singer Jennifer Nettles.
Another event people can look forward to is the 10th anniversary of the Embassy’s Down the Line show. The two-day concert series in February spotlights 10 bands covering different artists. In the past, bands have covered artists such as Johnny Cash, Billy Joel, Miranda Lambert and Black Sabbath.
It’s an event that helps raise money for the Embassy and that theatre staff are proud to put on.
“We’re always excited to have local bands and be able to highlight them on our professional stage,” Embassy Executive Director Kelly Updike said.
Tickets for Down the Line start at $15 per day or $25 for a two-day pass.
