THE New Year often brings thoughts of a new career – and the Daily Echo Jobs Fair should be in the diary of anyone seeking a fresh opportunity.
The Jobs Fair takes place at the Premier Inn, Westover Road in Bournemouth, on Thursday, February 11.
It has been running for more than 10 years and provides the perfect opportunity for employers to meet jobseekers, career-changers or those seeking training and advice.
Previous fairs have attracted more than 1,000 job-hunters each, with at least 30 businesses exhibiting as well as public bodies and education institutions.
The 2016 event will be sponsored by a major local employer, LV=, with Best Training delivering workshops on CV-writing and interview skills.
Angela Boyer, sales and events manager at the Daily Echo, said: “The Jobs Fair is being really well received by local employers from a variety of industries who have plans to recruit early in 2016.
“With low unemployment in this area and a high level of competition for good candidates, companies appreciate what a great opportunity the Jobs Fair is to meet potential employees face to face and to have a mutually beneficial discussion about their vacancies. It’s also recognised that with our publications and website, the event will be heavily marketed to a huge combined audience.
“Companies that have recently signed up include Dutton Gregory and Test Link – both new to the Jobs Fair. In addition, Best Training will be holding workshops for CV writing and interview skills – these free workshops are always popular and more details will be publicised in paper and on line in the new year.
“There are still a few stands available – a number of companies are planning to confirm their attendance after the Christmas period, so please call if you would like to secure a stand for your business.”
