We saw leaked live images of the unannounced Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini back in July this year. At that time, no specification details were provided by the source. Now, the yet-to-be-announced smartphone has been listed on an e-commerce website revealing specifications and a couple of images as well. It also hints towards an imminent launch.
According to the Letstango e-commerce website listing, the Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini will feature a 4.6-inch Super Amoled display and Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It will pack a hexa-core Qualcomm processor (probably the Snapdragon 808) clocked at 1.8GHz, clubbed with Adreno 418 GPU and 2GB RAM.
The Galaxy S6 Mini will house a 15-megapixel rear camera alongside 5-megapixel front-facing camera, indicates the listing. It will support 4G LTE Cat 6. connectivity, A-GPS, USB 3.0, Bluetooth v4.0, Beidou, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and Wi-Fi Direct under connectivity front. The handset bears 16GB of inbuilt storage and will be backed by a non-removable Li-ion battery.
The smartphone listing also indicates the Galaxy S6 Mini to feature a PayPal certified fingerprint sensor alongside Samsung Pay support, Qi wireless charging, S Voice natural language commands and dictation, ANT+ support, air gestures, and other document editing apps. It is seen in a Dark Blue colour variant.
Samsung has still not yet announced when it will launch the mini variant of the Galaxy S6, which launched alongside Galaxy S6 Edge during the MWC 2015 trade show in March this year. The company also seems to be gearing up for the Galaxy S7 launch, based on the increasing number of leaks and rumours.
Samsung last week launched its Galaxy A9 phablet with a 4000mAh battery. The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based Samsung Galaxy A9 falls in the company’s premium line of smartphones and features more powerful innards under-the-hood as compared to the recently launched Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016), and the Galaxy A7 (2016).
