Three of the Home Counties’ sporting heroes have been short-listed for Sports Personality of the Year…
Stevenage’s F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton is on the twelve-strong shortlist, along with Milton Keynes’ long jump success Greg Rutherford.
In addition, 22 year-old Hemel Hempstead gymnast Max Whitlock is in the running – he became the first man to win a gold for Great Britain at the World Gymnastics Championships.
But, it’s Andy Murray who’s the favourite to win after guiding Great Britain to a first Davis Cup tennis title in 79 years.
Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill is also featured, having won gold at the World Athletics Championships in her comeback year following the birth of her son.
