NIAGARA FALLS –Historic Holy Trinity, 1419 Falls St., plans Christmas concerts, tours and even a chance to enjoy a traditional Polish dinner in coming days.

A Christmas concert and Polish dinner are planned for next Sunday,with church doors opening at 3:15 p.m. and the concert at 4 p.m. Led by Gary Sage, the concert will showcase local talent, including the choir of Divine Mercy Roman Catholic Parish.

The concert, which will celebrate the church’s historic roots, when it served the Polish community on the city’s East Side, will be followed by dinner at Gadawski’s, at 1445 Falls St. The dinner will include breaded pork chops, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, applesauce, coffee/tea, homemade cookies and a cash bar.

Tickets are $35 per person for the dinner and concert together, or $20 each if purchased separately. Children 12 and under may attend the concert free; concert tickets for ages 13 to 15 are $5. A kids’ meal of hot dog and macaroni and cheese is $8. Takeout dinners also will be available. Advance tickets for the dinner are required by Tuesday by calling 299-0799.

In addition, the church offers its popular Friday Night Tours from 6 to 8 p.m. the next three Fridays, beginning this Friday and continuing Dec. 11 and 18. The church is decorated for Christmas, displaying several Christmas pieces that date back to the early 1900s.

At 6:30 p.m. Dec. 11, the organization will host a Christmas concert featuring the Niagara River Explorers Boys Choir. The concert is free, but a goodwill offering is appreciated and will be used to support Historic Holy Trinity.

Historic Holy Trinity’s complex includes a 1905 church, 1907 rectory, 1910 convent and carriage house/garage and 1914 school. The complex is listed on the national and state registers of Historic Places. Historic Holy Trinity is a nonprofit organization operated under the auspices of Niagara Heritage of Hope and Service. Its mission is to restore and maintain the parish, which was once Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church.

The mission of Niagara Heritage of Hope and Service is to make a positive difference in the local community and with visitors, by organizing family-oriented events like concerts and lectures. The organization works to preserve the structures and serve the poor of the community.
