Former NXT Champion Sami Zayn may be returning very soon. Was there an inadvertent hint dropped by WWE?

Sami Zayn has been out of action since NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable, when then-NXT Champion Kevin Owens injured him during their NXT Championship match. The reality was Zayn re-aggravated a shoulder injury seconds before his debut match on WWE Raw against John Cena.

Since then, Zayn has made one NXT TV appearance and showed up for two EVOLVE events last month.

About two weeks ago, we noted that Zayn had begun “light training” in his effort to get back. He didn’t start any in-ring training, though.

However, it’s possible that could have changed.

WWE.com is advertising Zayn for all the NXT events in the UK next month from Dec. 10 to 16, including NXT TakeOver: London. He is not listed for any NXT event after this tour.

Sometimes, WWE makes mistakes with their advertising page and puts up Superstars and Divas that aren’t actually going to show up. However, it would be strange if that’s the case since the former ROH star is listed for every event.

For a Zayn return, some thought his return would be held off until the WWE Royal Rumble 2016 pay-per-view. The fantasy booking was for him to return while Owens is in the Royal Rumble match, take him out, and set up a WrestleMania 32 bout for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. If Zayn is going to return on NXT TV, what he does would be interesting to see.
