Pauls Mill, a Versailles, Ky., stallion, boarding, and sales consignment operation is listed for sale with an $8.5-million asking price.
The 265-acre property is owned by Ben and Elaine Walden, who purchased the land in 2007 and converted it into a dedicated Thoroughbred operation. It is being listed by Justice Real Estate.
The farm most recently stood I Want Revenge and Fast Bullet in 2014 before relocating both for the most recent breeding season. Pauls Mill previously stood stallions including Bellamy Road, Artie Schiller, U S Ranger, and Summer Bird, who were all relocated to WinStar Farm in 2011.
The farm is also known for boarding Mining My Own, the dam of 2009 Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird and multiple Grade 1 winner Dullahan. The mare’s Bodemeister filly, who sold for $850,000 at this year’s Keeneland September yearling sale, was born at Pauls Mill.
The farm’s 4,700 square-foot main residence was built in the 1810s by Virginia-based John Paul, giving the property its “Pauls Mill” moniker.
Pauls Mill also includes a renovated 20-stall foaling/broodmare barn, a 20-stall yearling barn, and a five-stall stallion barn with a breeding area lounge and guest suite. There are also five additional barns, including one with an Aquaciser, along with three apartments, a guest home, and four employee houses.
