GEORGETOWN — A Facebook post for Polly’s Freeze Ice Cream Parlor states the last day of business for the season will be Sunday, but it could be the final chance for customers to enjoy what has been a popular Georgetown attraction since 1952.

A listing on the website for The Day Company real estate sales Tuesday advertised the Polly’s Freeze building at 5242 Ind. 62 as being for sale.

Phone messages left for the listed realtor and management at Polly’s Freeze weren’t immediately returned Tuesday afternoon.

Several people posted questions about a potential closing of Polly’s Freeze on the Facebook page for the business Tuesday, but they hadn’t been received a response.

The business was launched in 1952 by Elmer and Polly Gleitz. They retired in 2009, and sold the ice cream parlor.

Attempts to reach owners were not successful.
