It’s a rough life for Hollywood celebrities—constantly in the public eye and swarmed with paparazzi everywhere they go. Coupled with that fame though, is fortune, with which L.A.’s elite can pay for the privacy they so desperately seek.
A 12,000-square-foot “paparazzi proof” penthouse just outside of Beverly Hills has been listed for a cool $50 million. Jonathan Genton of developer Genton Property Group has based his entire company on this principle: making privacy accessible to those who want it most (a.k.a. those who are willing to shell out some serious cash).
The 12-story building, a Four Seasons Private Residence, boasts a laundry list of paparazzi-free features, including keyless private elevators that residents can control from their phones. (The penthouse elevator goes directly from the garage to the apartment.)
“In an ideal world you don’t share elevators or services with hotel guests at this price,” Genton told the Los Angeles Times. “The buyers do not want transient guests in their space.”
Add to that four balconies, a 9,000-square-foot rooftop and garden, a theater where actors and movie execs can meet and host screenings, a celebrity trainer-designed gym, plus post-workout meals whipped up by a five-star chef. Talk about luxury.
Construction of the condo has yet to begin and the project won’t wrap up until late 2017, but that hasn’t stopped 17 buyers thus far to lay down anywhere from $100,000 to $1 million to reserve one of the 59 units.
We hear Taylor Swift’s L.A. digs could use an upgrade…
