Hero Company Original Anime DVD Listed to Ship on October 5

Japanese retailer Manga-Oh is listing that the original anime DVD (OAD) that is slated to ship with the eighth volume of Kazuhiko Shimamoto‘s Hero Company manga will ship on October 5. Manga-Oh is listing that the limited edition bundle will cost 864 yen (about US$7) with tax.

The action comedy manga follows workers at a giant corporation that is dedicated to protecting people from disasters and other events all over the world. Together, they transform into the superheroes Dessert Five: Choco Red, Macaron Navy, Langue de Chat White, Soft Ice Cream Yellow, and Parfait Pink.

The anime will star:

  • Miyu Irino as Ginga Amano/Soft Ice Cream Yellow (top left in image)
  • Tomokazu Sugita as Daichi Hadou/Macaron Navy (top right)
  • Daisuke Namikawa as Syun Busou/Chocolate Red (bottom center)
  • Mai Fuchigami as Hikaru Hyu-ga/Parfait Pink (center left)
  • Lynn as Saki Tsurugi/Langue de Chat White (center right)
  • Katsuyuki Konishi as Kihan Kiba (top center)
  • Tomokazu Seki as Cacao Valentine (bottom left in black and white image)
  • Kikuko Inoue as Ginga’s mother (bottom right in black and white image)

Bob Shirohata (Hetalia – Axis Powers, Hiiro no Kakera – The Tamayori Princess Saga) is directing the anime at Studio DEEN. Mitsutaka Hirota (Bakumatsu Rock, The Prince of Tennis II) is writing the scenario, and Shinobu Tagashira (Is This a Zombie?, The Law of Ueki) is designing the characters.

Shimamoto launched the manga in Monthly Hero’s inaugural issue in 2011.
