An exclusive housing development near Lincoln is seeing homes being snapped up by eager buyers as soon as they are hitting the market.

In the last week alone, six three and four bed family homes on the Grade II listed St John’s Village development in Bracebridge Heath.

The sales amount to around £2 million.

Mel Parker, new homes manager at Pygott Crone, who manages the St John’s Village portfolio, said that the site is starting to look like a luxury residential area now further construction progress has been made.

He said: “This is an exciting and unique development and we are finding that buyers are securing these properties as soon as they become available, particularly the listed homes which are all completely individual and are stunning.

“Work started on this substantial site in 2013 and now work has completed on part of the existing listed building which has been renovated and restored into homes, you can really see this beautiful scheme coming to life.

“The existing listed parts of the building work so well alongside the new builds as developer Mabec has focussed on sympathetically developing the site in-line with its history and much attention, and funds, has been used to ensure this is the case, such as using high quality stone and traditional masonry techniques.”

The agent is also seeing many of its buyers coming from outside the area. Within the recent flurry of sales, customers have hailed from Scotland, London and Grimsby.

Mel added: “The beauty of St John’s is it is so unique, you can’t buy a home anywhere like this in the rest of the country and I believe that is why so many of our buyers are from outside of the region.

“When people visit us from other parts of the country or beyond, many do comment that they wouldn’t expect to find such unique homes available in Lincolnshire, and only two miles from the centre of Lincoln. One pleased customer commented that the listed buildings reminded her of Kensington in London.

“The stunning scheme continues to wow and that is of course excellent for sales.”

St John’s Village – a £40 million Grade II listed former hospital just outside of Lincoln – is being sympathetically brought back to life by developer Mabec.

184 homes are being created, 106 of these will be within the existing listed building (64 houses and 42 apartments) and 78 new homes will be built in the grounds.
