Jerry Dipoto, who resigned as Angels general manager on Wednesday, said Thursday it’s a “coincidence” that his Newport Beach home had been listed for sale for weeks before he stepped down.
Dipoto said via text that he and his wife had been “planning to downsize” because their older daughter just graduated from college and their younger son had just finished high school.
Dipoto resigned on Wednesday after 3 1/2 years as the Angels general manager, saying it was “what’s right for me and my family and frankly, for the Angels.”
Dipoto said he didn’t decide to resign until this week, despite reports that he had listed his 4300-square foot Newport Beach home for sale weeks ago.
