2015 Party in the Park Competitions

Vinton’s upcoming ‘Party in the Park’ three-day festival is a great opportunity for families and people of all ages to relax, play games, eat some amazing food and enjoy some great entertainment. It also provides a chance to enjoy some friendly competition with others in a wide array of sporting (and eating) events!

Friday, June 26 / Riverside Park

– At 6 PM, the Party in Pink 5K Walk/Run will begin at the Riverside Park area located across from Virginia Gay Hospital. All proceeds of this 5K will be donated to ‘Gifts of Hope,’ a program created to provide mammograms to women who cannot afford the breast cancer detection procedure. For more information on this event, please visit Monkeytown, Tharp Design or other area Vinton businesses. Registrations will be accepted up to race time. This event is sponsored by Survivors of Benton County.

– At 6:30 PM, kids and adults will be able to try their luck at a couple of free competitions held at Riverside Park. To go along with this year’s farm theme, contestants will have the opportunity to square off against a friend in the Milk The Cow competition to see who can get the most milk in their bucket after one minute has lapsed!

Also, come down and try your luck at swinging a lasso and trying to rope a steer (it’s a fake steer head in a haystack, but hey, its almost the real deal, right?!)

Saturday, June 27 / Riverside Park

– At 10 AM, there will be a Disc Golf Tournament at the Riverside Park Disc Golf Course. Participants for this event may park at the Vinton Recreation Center and registration will get underway at 9:30.
