Peter Phillips
The Queen’s eldest grandchild is the UK boss of a sports management company whose clients include his sister Zara. After graduating from the University of Exeter in 2000, the 37 year old worked for Jaguar Racing and the Williams Formula 1 team, meeting his Canadian wife Autumn, 37, at the Montreal Grand Prix.
The newlyweds reportedly caused unease in royal circles when they sold the rights to their 2008 wedding to a magazine before relocating to Hong Kong, where the 13th in line to the throne headed the global sponsorship division of the Royal Bank of Scotland.
They returned to Britain in 2010 for the birth of their first child Savannah and their second, Isla, was born in 2012. They live in a cottage on Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire, where Peter helps run the Festival of British Eventing with his father Mark Phillips.
Zara Tindall
Dubbed a rebel for having her tongue pierced as a teenager, Zara is better known for her sporting achievements than her Royal status. Like her brother Peter, the 16th in line to the throne wasn’t given a title at birth, leaving her free to pursue her eventual equestrian dreams.
The former world and European eventing champion won a silver medal at the London Olympics and now has her sights set on Rio 2016. Prince Harry introduced his cousin to former England rugby union player Mike Tindall, 36, during the 2003 World Cup in Australia and the couple married in 2011. A qualified physiotherapist, the 34-year-old
Royal is close to Prince William and godmother to Prince George.
Her first child Mia was born last year at an NHS hospital close to Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate, where the Tindalls live at Aston Farm.
Savannah Phillips
The Queen’s eldest great-grandchild, blonde-haired, blue-eyed Savannah has inherited the Royal Family’s love of the great outdoors and can often be seen wading through muddy fields in her wellies at equestrian events.
The four year old is said to “love” riding her Shetland pony, a gift from Auntie Zara. Her father Peter Phillips revealed Zara was insistent on giving her the Shetland, which is a perfect size for the novice rider. “Savannah loves riding him. It seems we’ve passed the horse gene on to the next generation,” he said.
Her grandmother Princess Anne was also an accomplished rider and represented Great Britain at the Olympics. The 14th in line to the throne can often be spotted in the crowd supporting Zara on horseback.
Isla Phillips
Like her older sister Savannah and cousin Mia, Isla was born at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The three year old’s middle name Elizabeth is a tribute to her great-grandmother, the Queen.
She was christened at a low-key ceremony at the Church of the Holy Cross in Avening, Gloucestershire, where Savannah was also baptised. In keeping with the rest of the Royal Family, the 15th in line to the throne also likes horsing about and can often be spotted on Auntie Zara’s shoulders during days out on the Gatcombe Park estate.
Like Savannah, Isla has no title and her parents do not receive anything from the civil list. Both daughters will be free to pursue any career and are unlikely to carry out any Royal duties although like Peter and Zara, they may act as family ambassadors.
Mia Grace Tindall
Described by her mother as “really easy” and “well behaved”, 15-month-old Mia has slotted perfectly into country life. When Mia was small, Zara used to feed her and then put her down to sleep in her pram while she went out riding.
Closest in age to Cousin George, her father Mike described the two babies’ first meeting as “carnage”, with more food going astray than into the babies’ mouths. The 17th in line to the throne is her parents’ number one supporter, accompanying Mummy to equestrian events and watching Daddy play rugby. Zara has made no secret of the fact that she would love her daughter to be athletic. “We have always had sport in our lives,” said Zara, “so hopefully we can pass that on to Mia.”
Mike added: “Whatever she wants to be, we will support that.”
