This year’s Summer In The City event at the Castlefield Bowl arena promises to a star-studded occasion, with a plethora of high profile names from the world of music set to perform.
The outdoor concert is set to host around 32,000 music fans across its four-day festival. First up on Thursday, July 2, the platinum award winning singer songwriter Paolo Nutini will get the festival underway, performing classic tracks such as Last Request and New Shoes, as well as hits from his latest chart-topping album Caustic Love.
Hometown group The Charlatans will then headline the event on Saturday, July 4. Tim Burgess’ band recently returned to the live scene after a five year absence following the death of their drummer Jon Brookes, performing to a sold-out Albert Hall on March 5.
You can check out the review of that performance here.
The Charlatans will be joined on July 4 by up-and-coming Stockport band Blossoms, before Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds take over the arena for the final day of the festival on July 11, supported by Johnny Marr and Black Rivers.
The series of concerts are set to make up the biggest Summer In The City season yet, with highlights from previous years including sets from James, The Pixies and The Courteeners. You can view the full Summer In The City line up in our festival preview.
