Taylor Swift listed in Forbes’ World’s 100 Most Powerful Women

Taylor Swift has been announced as the youngest person to be included in the Forbes list of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.

The ‘Bad Blood’ singer aged 25 is at number 64 in the list which includes women from eight categories: technology, politics, business, finance, media, entertainment, philanthropy and billionaires.  The Forbes rank was created taking into account money, media, impact and spheres of influence.

According to Forbes this year’s Power Women control nearly $1 trillion in annual revenue and have a combined social media following of 474 million Twitter and YouTube followers; Taylor Swift has 51 million Twitter followers alone!

Taylor has quickly become one of most loved pop stars, adored by millions of ‘Swifties’ around the world, she is the only artist ever to have three consecutive albums sell a million copies in their first week in the US. 

Making the transition from country to pop her fifth studio album, 1989 became the best selling album in 2014 and spawned top 5 hits such as ‘Shake it Off’, ‘Blank Space’ and most recently ‘Bad Blood’.

No stranger to the Forbes lists Taylor was also named as number 18 in the Forbes Celebrity 100 last year earning an estimated $64 million (£41 million).

Other Power Women listed in the Forbes list include Beyonce (number 21), Angelina Jolie (number 54) and Ellen DeGeneres (50).

The top spot was given to German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
