WYOMING, MI (WHTC) – One of the most historic homes in West Michigan has been put on the market by one of the oldest families in Kent County. Mlive.com reports ‘Rogers Mansion’ is currently owned by Melanie Rogers and was built in 1839 by Rogers’ great-great grandfather, Justus Rogers.
The house was initially built at 1144 Rogers Plaza Drive in Wyoming after Justus Rogers moved from Vermont to Michigan in the early 1830s, before Michigan was even a state. The house was then moved to 1141 Coltrain Avenue SW in 1960 to make way for the area’s first shopping mall and also added more modern amenities.
The2,632-square-foot house currently has four bedrooms, two full baths, plus an attached 600-square-foot efficiency apartment. Melanie Rogers has listed the house for $252,900 and hopes that the person who buys the home will appreciate all the history that comes with it.
