The deadline for nominations for this year’s Melton Times Sports Awards is closing fast.
You have until midnight next Monday (May 25) to let us know your nominee for one of our 10 awards.
So who deserves recognition for their sporting success and achievements over the last 12 months?
Since their debut in 2004, the Melton Times Sports Awards have evolved and grown into one of the showpiece events of our sporting community.
Our pages are filled week in and week out with wonderful stories of accomplishment and endeavour, and in return we aim to give something back to the stars in our community.
So who do you think fits the bill for one of the 10 awards listed below?
Nominations can be made for anything from grassroots sport right through to international success and everything in between over the last 12 months. It may be your friend or team-mate, a family member or someone you’ve admired through our pages.
You can nominate by filling in and returning the coupon in the newspaper, or here by clicking on the link.
Please include a photo of your nominee(s) with your form, or email chris.harby@meltontimes.co.uk
The closing date for nominations is midnight on Monday, May 25.
Our panel of judges will then shortlist three nominees from each category to go through to our awards night.
The big night returns to Melton Market’s banqueting suite on Thursday, June 25.
We are delighted to confirm BBC TV sports broadcaster Ivan Gaskell has once again agreed to host the evening.
Melton’s very own superwoman Claire Lomas will be joining us and we hope to unveil another superstar special guest in the next few days.
Our judges will devise a shortlist for our two top awards – the Sports Personality of the Year, sponsored by Mars, and Junior Sports Personality of the Year (available for sponsorship) – the winners of which will then be decided by your votes.
