Estate agents have carried out a survey that’s listed Lincoln within the top towns for ghost sightings in the UK.
Rightmove asked 30,000 people across the country whether they had seen a ghost and Lincoln came out seventh in the list.
The Lincolnshire Echo recently reported a list of the 12 most haunted places in the county.
In Lincoln, St Mary’s Guildhall, Brown’s Pie Shop, County Assembly Rooms, Lincoln Castle and Greestone Stairs all made the list.
And elsewhere in the county, there have been several ghost ‘sightings’ on the southern stretch of the A15 towards Sleaford.
RAF Hemswell, The Garden House Hotel in Stamford, Gainsborough Old Hall, the Angel and Royal Hotel in Grantham, Ayscoughfee Hall in Spalding and RAF Binbrook also made the list.
According to Rightmove, the top towns for ghost sightings were:
1. Torquay
2. Stoke on Trent
3. Wigan
4. Dundee
5. Romford
6. Dartford
7. Lincoln
8. Doncaster
9. Telford
10. Havering
The video below shows an episode of paranormal investigatory show Most Haunted when it visited Lincoln Prison in 2010.
People completing the survey were also asked if they had ever seen an unexplained object in the sky and whether they had ever unwittingly seen their neighbours naked.
Lincolnshire didn’t top the list for either, but the results of the towns that did are listed below.
