Beatrice Tollman, who founded the parent company of The Chesterfield, has listed her lakefront estate at 174 Via Del Lago for $35 million.
Five houses north of The Mar-a-Lago Club, the landmarked house stands on a large Estate Section lot of nearly 3 acres. Known as Southwood, the estate hasn’t been on the market since 1987, property records show.
Lawrence Moens of Lawrence A. Moens Associates won’t discuss the property. But his sales listing describes it as “probably one of the most important estates ever to exist on the island of Palm Beach.” The listing appeared today in the Palm Beach Board of Realtors’ Multiple Listing Service.
Built in 1934, the traditional-style house has 18,554 square feet of living space inside and out, with eight bedrooms and 13 baths, the listing shows.
Tollman is president of the London-based Red Carnation Hotel Collection.
