Widewaters Drive-In restaurant, the popular summertime eatery that’s been closed since it was flooded in June of 2013, is up for sale.
The restaurant and two adjacent parcels are listed for $575,000. The listing boasts 1,314 square feet for the restaurant itself and 11 acres of land along Market Street. It shows annual taxes of $5,698 for the 1961 building and property.
Widewaters owner, Martin Oliveri, had hoped to re-open the restaurant after the flood two years ago. He told East Niagara Post last June that he had plans to reopen — bigger and better even — but his project was on hold until he received assurances that the massive flooding of 2013 isn’t just going to happen again.
“One-hundred percent, I want to reopen the restaurant,” Oliveri said at the time. “That’s my livelihood.”
