Ed Miliband’s EdStone has appeared on Ebay after internet pranksters mocked its future in the wake of the Labour leader’s resignation.
Jokers have listed the 8ft plinth on the auction site after the party’s crushing election defeat to the Tories saw Mr Miliband quit.
In one listing the description of the slab – which bore Mr Miliband’s election pledges – states: “Stone monolith. One careful owner. Unused garden decoration – limited edition.”
Another listing saw the plinth described as: “£30,000 worth of unwanted limestone obelisk.
“Some idiot has carved some inane slogans on it, but these can easily be erased.
“Just like it’s current owner has been erased from the political landscape of much of the country.
“Grab it before it disappears – along with the chap pictured next to it.”
In the small print the seller goes on to make it clear the successful bid will actually be for “a picture of the item”.
The jokes were soon shared on Twitter prompting an avalanche of ideas for what to do with the stone.

And Bob Duffield @BobDuffield posted: “#EdStone for #Miliband’s political grave. #RIPwhile”
Another picture posted showed Mr Miliband and his wife Justine standing in the kitchen of their home with the stone mocked up to look like a new kitchen table.
The stone has been the subject of ridicule since it was unveiled amid much fanfare earlier this week.
Then Mr Miliband vowed to erect it in the garden of 10 Downing Street should he become prime minister.
