Two people from Warwickshire were still listed this morning amongst those missing in Nepal after a devastating earthquake hit the region on Saturday.

Mary Magdelina Claus, 64, from Nuneaton, and Martin James Edmonds Gattuso, 38, of Harborough Magna, near Rugby, remain on a list of British and Irish-born people believed to be missing in Nepal.

An updated version of the list was released this morning. Unfortunately there was no indication of whether they had been found or not.

Anthony White, of Holbrooks, Coventry, had been listed as missing after the 7.8-magnitude quake ripped through the country and caused deadly avalanches on the world’s biggest mountain.

But Anthony later made contact with friends back in Coventry to say he has made it away from the base camp and will arrive back in the city later this week.

Anthony White, from Holbrooks, Coventry, was at Mount Everest base camp when an earthquake hit Nepal on Saturday.

Tragically the death toll has risen to more than 4,300 with thousands more having lost their homes or been injured in the worst earthquake to have hit the country in over 80 years.
