BOSTON (CBS) – What a seller claimed to be the jailhouse identification card of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez was posted for sale online.
An eBay listing was posted on Friday showing a laminated badge complete with identifying information and a photo of Hernandez, who is currently in prison during his trial for the murder of Odin Lloyd.
The online listing title claimed that the item is Hernande’z Suffolk County jail identification card.
“I was in jail with Aaron Hernandez the for patriot super star.. I happen to com across his jail id (sic),” the eBay user posted.
The item was listed with a starting price of $500. It did not have any bids when the auction was removed from eBay Saturday morning.
Jurors in Hernandez’s murder trial have been deliberating for about 20 hours, and will return to the courtroom Monday as they work to determine the former NFL player’s fate.
In addition, Hernandez will stand trial in the near future for his alleged role in a Boston double-murder.
It is not clear whether the user or the online auction site removed the auction item from the website.
