A popular town centre pub has been listed for sale at £195,000 shortly after gaining planning permission to convert parts of it to flats.
Wrexham.com spotted the new listing described as an ‘investment property’, with it being flagged as possible interest to property developers or investors. The latter focussing on the planning permission that has been recently granted to develop floors into flats, which we wrote about here in July last year.
The listing with local agents Wingetts says: “The premises have the benefit of a recent planning consent to convert the first and second floor to provide two 1 bedroom flats and one 2 bedroomed flat.”
The pub area below and outside will remain for use as a public house, and on our announcement of the passing of planning the pub landlord wrote on our Facebook page saying: “We are aware of the plans for upstairs, but this will not affect the pub at all”.
The application we wrote about last year contained a note stating the building is in need of ‘rrejuvenation’ (sic) with a warning on the last page of the documentation saying that if the above work is not allowed there is a risk that the building will ‘deteriorate’ and become an ‘eyesore’ in town.
