Showing Belfast’s City Hall in a stunning light – this video shows just how magical our city can be.
The video was taken by the City Council when the building became the first in Europe to install a revolutionary new intelligent lighting system.
Tonight the City Hall will go cream and burgundy in honour of the Belfast Building Trust’s 20th anniversary.
Since the installation in 2013 the City Hall has been lit up in different colours to mark special events throughout the year.
So far in 2015 it has been red on Valentine’s Day, orange and red for Chinese New Year, and green on St Patrick’s Day – to name just a few.
Later in the year the building will go orange and purple for Orangefest, red, white and blue for the Queen’s birthday, and rainbow for Belfast Pride. In total the Grade A listed building will go different colours 27 times in 2015.
When launched it was said the lighting system would also help cut City Hall’s energy bill and CO2 emissions.
