Honolulu likes to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in a big way.
This year, the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, sponsored by the Friends of St. Patrick in Hawaii, take place on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from noon to approximately 1:30 p.m on Kalakaua Avenue. This year’s parade is expected to have 800 marchers, 50 vehicles, 2 floats and 5 bands.
Following the parade, the traditional post-parade party will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Kelly O’Neils which is located at 311 Lewers Street in Waikiki and in the downtown Merchant Street area with plenty of food, drink and Irish souvenirs for sale.
At Murphy’s Bar Grill, there will be a block party to benefit for local charities, starting with lunch at 11 a.m. A half-hour later booths will open in the parking lot across the street offering food, beverages, T-shirts and other souvenirs. At 6 p.m., the block party continues at Nuuanu and Merchant Street with more food and alcohol booths, an oyster bar, live music, DJs and dancing.
And the Irish rock band Doolin’ Rakes performs at the Hard Rock Care from 1 to 4 p.m. in Waikiki.
