A former commercial expert from Liverpool FC has been appointed sales manager at Liverpool’s latest hotel.
Nicola Myers has joined DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Spa Liverpool, which is due to open on Sir Thomas Street in April.
The Grade II listed hotel was the municipal annexe of Liverpool City Council.
Formerly head of partner experience at Liverpool Football Club, Ms Myers said she is keen to transfer her award-winning commercial skills from the football pitch to the hotel sector.
Notably responsible for the creation of the partnership events team for Liverpool FC’s main sponsor, reporting directly to the commercial director at the club, Ms Myers has managed some of the highest value sponsor relationships in the football industry.
A winner in the BT Sport Industry Awards, North West Football Awards and finalist in The Football Business Awards, she is locally and internationally recognised for selling and delivering first class corporate hospitality and representing the city of Liverpool at a number of global sporting events.
Terence Southward, general manager DoubleTree by Hilton Liverpool, said: “This hotel is very special and it needs an outstanding sales manager, and I am certain that we found it in Nicola.
“In the short space of time she has been in position, her drive, passion and work ethic is evident. Nicola’s proven success and relationships in both the city and around the world are a real asset to the hotel.”
Speaking about her new appointment, Ms Myers said, “Joining DoubleTree by Hilton Liverpool’s team to open this hotel is such a privilege.
“In my time at LFC I was showcasing and selling Liverpool to a global market, and I’m excited to do the same here while representing another highly successful and internationally recognisable brand.”
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Spa Liverpool has undergone a complex restoration that is almost complete.
The hotel, comprising two Grade II listed buildings with historical significance to the city, boasts an upscale interior with breathtaking architecture.
Original features have been restored taking the building back to its former grandeur, dating back to 1883 when the site was the home of the Liverpool Conservative Club.
The hotel will feature a range of standard bedrooms, deluxe bedrooms, executive rooms, junior suites and presidential suite.
Large function spaces and meeting rooms will sit alongside the recently-announced Jean Christophe Novelli at Michelle restaurant.
