A six-bedroom Wayzata home built by two survivors of the 1912 Titanic sinking has been listed for sale at $4.75 million.

John Pillsbury Snyder (whose grandfather, John Sargent Pillsbury, was Minnesota’s eighth governor) and his wife, Nelle Stevenson Snyder, built the home in 1949. ( Read about their North Atlantic ordeal here.)

The second and current owner, John Fauth (founder and owner of Minneapolis-based investment firm Churchill Cos.), bought the property in 1986 to rebuild and expand it.

The two-story, stucco home now has six bathrooms, four fireplaces, two powder rooms on the main floor, two staircases, a library, a wine cellar, a billiard room and a recreation room.

The 12,939-square-foot property is on 2.16 acres. Out back there’s a New York bluestone terrace, a tennis court and nearly 100 feet of shoreline on the north side of Lake Minnetonka with a dock.

The home has an attached two-car garage, plus a separate four-car garage (both are heated). Above the larger garage is a two-bedroom guest home with a screened porch.

Coldwell Banker Burnet broker Benjamin Rae has the listing here.
