It can be hard to keep up with the sheer amount of virtual reality (VR) community meetups that are taking place at the moment. That said, it sounds like it will be well worth keeping track of the San Francisco Virtual Reality (SFVR) meetup next week, which takes place on 26th February 2015. The event’s organisers have just announced the initial line-up, promising some exclusive announcements as well as talks from VR figureheads and, of course, hands-on demos with the latest VR experiences and videogames.
Confirmed for the event so far is the reveal of a new piece of VR hardware from a UK-based company. A ‘never-before-seen’ VR videogame from indie developer Pixel Blast will also be announced. In terms of speakers, Leap Motion’s Jody Medich will talk about making technology ‘speak human’ through interfaces and more. Leap Motion itself will be available for demoing as will work from Gazzaley Lab, Israel-based developer Sidekick Games, cinematic VR company Jaunt and Playhead studio InnerspaceVR. More speakers and demos will be announced later on.
SFVR #8 takes place from 18:30 PST at the Fort Mason Center at 2 Marina Blvd, San Francisco, California. Tickets are available through an EventBrite page and listed as REAL Live (Thurs 2-9pm Expo Only) for $25 USD.
VRFocus will continue to follow any and all VR-related events, reporting back with any further updates on them.
