SELLER: Josh Flagg
LOCATION: Los Angeles, Calif.
PRICE: $2 million
SIZE: 1,687 square feet, 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms
YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Platinum Triangle property purveyor and “Million Dollar Listing” star Josh Flagg put his humbly sized if hardly inexpensive Sunset Strip cottage up for sale at $2 million. Flagg acquired the walled, gated and ivy-covered residence in July 2013 for $1.6 million from Hollywood scion David Katzenberg.
The 29-year-old Bentley driving broker dropped a bundle on an exacting restoration and update of the 1,687-square-foot cottage that was decoratively done up by his longtime beau, interior designer Colton Thorn, in a casually glam manner reminiscent, per listing details, of a bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
The two-bedroom and two-bathroom abode, rigged with a camera-equipped, state-of-the-art security system, has dark hardwood floors throughout, casement windows and an arched brick fireplace in the living room. The expensively outfitted kitchen has custom cabinetry, thick slab marble countertops, white subway tile backsplash and a brass-accented stainless steel range that retails for about as much as a California minimum wage worker earns in six months. French doors in the adjoining, sky-lit family room open to a relatively petite backyard with an extra-large cabana comfortably decked out with built-in fire pit, in-ground spa and the property’s third bathroom.
We queried Mister Flagg about his future real estate plans, and he says he’s ready for something more substantial and with a view, maybe in Trousdale Estates or the Bird Streets, but would also consider Sierra Towers. “I prefer high-rise living. It’s the boyfriend who likes houses.” Flagg, who is affiliated with Rodeo Realty, listed the property himself.
