SITUATED in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside, the Edward VII Wing, in Rangemore Hall could be the most expensive semi-detached property in the county – if not the country!

Rangemore Hall, a Grade II listed building, was commissioned by the influential Bass family in the early 19th century and is now divided into apartments and houses in an exclusive and private community – one of which is the Edward VII Wing which was purpose-built for a weekend visit by King Edward VII in 1902.

The new wing, intended to house the king and his 20 personal attendants, now boasts seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, three reception rooms, a study and a one-bedroom flat.

The wing has also undergone a comprehensive restoration and renovation to include a leisure complex completed in a Romanesque-style and sporting a heated swimming pool and sunken spa bath.

The property, which was purchased by ex-Dragon Hilary Devey in 2006, also features a boot room leading to a sweeping staircase and five chandeliers, as well as a strong room used to house the Bass family’s crown jewels.

There is also a ballroom with a detailed covered ceiling, another spiral staircase, an office and library shelving, while the drawing room boasts a marble hand-carved fireplace, just for display.

The Edward VII Wing overlooks 10 acres of parkland including two private lakes, a topiary garden with an in-set water feature, four-car garage and electronic gated private driveway.
