The proposal was published on the local authority website in December.

The proposal seeks permission for internal alterations, installation of replacement timber sash and case double glazed windows of the same style at The Manse, Main Road, Cardross.

It application also seeks permission for the replacement of the roof covering to natural slate, including leadwork and gutters, stone repairs, replacement rendering, and re-pointing to north east elevation.

The building is category C-listed along with its boundary walls and gate piers, and is thought to date from about the same period as when James Dempster designed the Old Parish Church in about 1827 – the ruins of which remain adjacent to property.

Agent Lawrence Hill Architecture and Design, West Montrose Street, Helensburgh, submitted the application on behalf of applicants Gavin and Rosemary Wilson, of Rowmore Quays, Pier Road, Rhu.

The planning application can be viewed on the council’s website.
