Seven boys arrested after blaze destroys Grade-II listed farmhouse in Wigan


 

Seven boys have been arrested on suspicion of arson after a blaze destroyed a Grade-II listed farmhouse.

Chaddock Hall in Wigan was ravaged by fire which broke out at around 7.30pm on Thursday, December 4.

Police said that offenders broke into the property, on Chaddock Lane in Astley, and set fire to furniture inside. The blaze then spread to other parts of the hall and gutted it. No-one was injured.

A GMP spokesman confirmed on December 22 that seven boys, aged between 11 and 15, were arrested on suspicion of arson and have been bailed until January 30.
