Liverpool’s Aloft Hotel launched its stunning transformation of the Grade II listed Royal Insurance Building to the city’s celebs.
Soapstars Ryan Thomas from Coronation Street, Emmerdale’s Anthony Quinlan, former Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas and Brookside’s Philip Olivier all turned out for the grand opening.
Liverpool’s Dance Mums star Jennifer Ellison and former Desperate Scousewives’ Amanda Harrington and Debbie O’Toole also enjoyed the night which saw endless champagne and sliders being served.
The former Royal Insurance Building has been converted into a 116-bedroom hotel, and boasted modernised interior to contrast with the historic building.
Aloft have kept prominent features of the 110-year-old building, with the stained glass window in the lobby being carefully restored to its original state.
The 4 star hotel is the UK’s second Aloft hotel, with the mezzanine open space drawing the company to the stunning location.
The ground floor is made up of a beautiful bar which specialises in cocktails and gin, whilst the very back of the area is a plush New York Diner.
Standard rooms can vary on Monday-Thursdays between £59-£100, and from £79-£200 on weekends depending on events within the city.
The hotel offers comfortable yet impressive hotel rooms, however the bar and restaurant are worth a visit in their own right with a festive four course lunch being served from 10th December, including mini pop up fish and chips stands, burger stalls and hotdog stands adding to their New York themed restaurant.
Liverpool’s very own make-up specialists Peaches And Cream were also on hand to make guests look glamorous, with owner Kate Donnelly happy to be “supporting a local neighbour, enjoying their gorgeous hotel and doing something constructive for the event”.
