The millers will be busy at Cogglesford Watermill, in Sleaford, later this week, as the huge water wheel rumbles into action.

The Grade II listed attraction, in East Road, has been producing flour since the early 18th century.

North Kesteven District Council has preserved the site to give insight into milling in days gone by.

On Sunday, the site will hold its latest milling day.

Visitors will be able to see the mill’s vast cogs and wheels – as driven by the power of the water wheel – turn the mill stones to produce organic, wholemeal flour.

They will also be able to learn about the history of the mill and its millers, try their hand at grinding grain, explore the mill, and even take home a reminder of their day with a bag of Cogglesford Watermill’s very own flour, on sale in the shop.

The milling will take place between 11am and 4pm.
