Plans for 82 new homes, to be built behind a historic listed building in Boston, are set to go before the borough council’s planning department.

The development, which is being put forward by Larkfleet Homes, will have access from Sibsey Road, will include a cycle/footpath access to Wainfleet Road.

The design and access statement said that originally access was also proposed onto Wainfleet Road but this was removed following the advice from the heritage consultant and concerns raised by the council.

The site will also encircle Burton Hall, a listed Grade II building which also includes a stable and wall lining Wainfleet Road.

The plan has also changed from 100 homes and modified to include more open space.

Larkfleet says it includes: “82 much needed, high quality dwellings (open market and affordable) together with associated roads, garages and open space areas.”

There is also the suggestion of a pedestrian crossing facility on the A16 Sibsey Road.

This is the latest in a series of developments to go before the council, which has reported it still does not have enough housing land for a five-year-supply as per government requirements.
